Congratulations to Mrs. Tandra Stevens for being selected Baxter ALC's 2011 Teacher of the Year!
“I have been a teacher here at Baxter Alternative Learning Center for six years. I love what I do here. I am a Middle School teacher in which I teach Science and Mathematics. I grew up in Louisiana and moved on to Jersey City, New Jersey to continue my education at St. Peter’s College. I graduated from St. Peter’s in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. I later moved to Nashville and completed my degree in Education from Tennessee State University. It is a privilege to serve the students in whom I deal with everyday. I believe that all students are capable of achieving success and it is my goal to help them in there endeavors. I take joy in the job that I perform from day to day. My class motto is “Excellence in Every Endeavor” and the students and I at Baxter work consistently and fervently toward this goal.”
